Herm got his start in Christian radio as a volunteer with Trans World Radio in Bonaire in 1972, then worked at KOQT-Bellingham, Washington, WFUR AM/FM in Grand Rapids, Michigan and WKPR-AM in Kalamazoo, Michigan before moving to KURL Radio in 1982 as manager. Herm has owned KURL since 1994. Herm and his wife Sheila have been married 42 years and have four adult children and 5 grandchildren.
